iFestival 2009 has given schools involved in the DISC programme
a unique opportunity to exhibit work being done by teachers
and pupils in the area of ICT over the last year. It
demonstrates and celebrates the great variety of ICT
projects being undertaken in schools and the skills,
creativity and imagination of the pupils involved. The exhibition contains comics, 3D
designs, digital pictures, photo journals, LEGO robotics and multimedia projects from
20 participating schools. We hope you'll get a chance to see
the exhibition sometime over the next three weeks.
RTE News
covered the launch of iFestival on their Six One News. The
two minute video gives a great overview of the exhibition.

We will
be announcing winners of the comic, photo journal, digital
picture and podcast competitions over the next couple of
weeks. Certificates for all participating children will be delivered to schools as soon as possible.
iFestival has been made possible thanks
to our partners SMART Technologies, NCTE, HP, DICP and DIT.
We are also very grateful to our sponsors, Civil
Service Charities Fund, ESB, Arup
Consulting Engineers, Go Interactive and Coca Cola. Thanks
also to the staff in the Central Library and particularly
Geraldine O'Brien for looking after us. Finally thanks to
the teachers and assistants who brought children to the
launch.
We are
already looking forward to next year and we would be
delighted to get your views on how to make iFestival
2010 a relevant and enjoyable event for
teachers and pupils.
